Hearing Aid & Assistive Listening Devices Display
Newport Audiology Centers is happy to provide a display for your meeting or health fair, of different styles of hearing aids and their features, as well as a variety of Assisted Listening Devices.

The Hearing Aid display includes models of the four basic sizes of aids and the batteries for each.

The Assisted Listening Devices display includes a battery operated personal listening device worn by a hard of hearing individual to amplify the speech of another. Also in the display is a cordless device that makes the TV louder for just the hearing impaired person, while keeping the volume at a moderate level for others in the room.

This display is an ideal enhancement to a health fair table. These displays can also be presented at a meeting with handouts on resources available nationally and in the local community. A Newport Audiology Centers representative will be present to answer questions.

Video Otoscope Evaluation of the Ears
Most people are fascinated by the chance to see inside their own body. The video otoscope evaluation of the ears allows participants to see what their doctor sees when he or she looks down the ear canal. The whole process takes only a couple of minutes for each participant. It is a perfect tool for health fairs, attracting many people to the table.

A Newport Audiology staff member explains the procedure to each participant and then shines the light of the scope down the ear canal. A tiny video camera mounted at the tip of the scope illuminates the ear canal as the image is projected on a TV screen. This evaluation does not test hearing, but does check for wax build up that can cause temporary hearing loss. This is an informative and well-received evaluation.

An electrical outlet, one chair and table is all that is necessary for Newport to provide this evaluation. A quiet room is NOT required.

Hearing Screenings for Seniors
Hearing screenings are typically offered at senior centers and medical centers where a separate quiet room is available. They provide an excellent opportunity to offer a service and general good will.

This is not a hearing test, but rather a 3-5 minute screening of an individual's hearing at two or three decibel levels. A Newport staff member places earphones on the individual wishing to be screened. Using an audiometer to monitor the level of the sound the hearing care professional notes the responses given by the individual. If an individual fails to respond at any level, appropriate referrals are given.

Hearing Screenings must be performed in a very quiet room away from conversation or foot traffic. A separate area for individuals waiting to be screened must be provided away from the screening room. A table, two chairs and an electrical outlet are necessary in order to conduct the screening.

Hearing Health Presentations
Newport Audiology Centers provides knowledgeable staff members to present information on hearing health related topics.

Each topic is covered in an interesting and informative manner for approximately 30 to 45 minutes, followed by questions and answers.
These talk topics can be presented individually, or in-series with a talk one month followed the next month with a different talk or a video otoscope evaluation or hearing screening session.

The length and content of these presentations can be tailored to your audience. These topics lend themselves to adaptation and can be combined.

To Schedule an event please contact the Community Outreach Program Coordinator: 1-720-385-3700 ext. 3 or by email at events@newaud.com

We request that you contact Newport Audiology Centers a minimum of four weeks in advance.

We desire to accommodate all requests, however we may not be able to take part in every event. Providing alternative dates, or allowing us to offer an alternative talk or service, may make it possible for Newport to participate in your event.

Please let us know as soon as possible about date, time, or location changes, or if an event must be cancelled.

For hearing screenings a 2-3 hour time frame must be established. Pre-scheduling attendees in 5-10 minute time slots, eliminates long waiting periods for hearing screening events.
